Who We Are

The Friends of Chautauqua County Greenways is a group of volunteers who share a common interest: To Preserve and Promote the natural assets of the County. This group represents the interests of hikers, bikers, kayakers, bird watchers, fishermen, snowmobilers, birders, cross-country skiers, environmentalists, and many other stakeholders who share a common vision, as defined by the recently-completed Chautauqua County Greenway Plan, to help "establish Chautauqua County as a four season destination for outdoor living, nurtured by public/private partnerships." Our membership, still in its infancy, is becoming involved with hands-on projects that serve to manage and maintain our current assets, while looking to the future to create more opportunities to fulfill our mission.

March 2013...  the FCCG steering committee has been busy keeping the Chautauqua County Parks Commission updated on our progress, also were present at the DEC Open Spaces Conservation public meeting.  We are starting to wind up our plans for this coming Spring as far as trail work days and events.  please feel free to toss your thoughts and ideas our way.

Get ready for trail work....  check out this powerpoint  and read the trail day tips.  Of course these two items are only meant to give you some brief information, better yet attend one of the planned trail care courses that will be coming soon.  One likely in April or May and another in October.
